International School of Arizona Expands Classes and Programs
Scottsdale-Based Foreign Language Immersion school hires new French and Spanish middle school teachers, opens pre-K 1 classes and will host in-person summer camps
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (March 23, 2021) — The International School of Arizona — which teaches a French & Spanish language immersion curriculum from preschool (18 months old) to 8th grade — is expanding its programs and classes for the upcoming summer and school year.
The school is expanding its offerings in three ways:
• Adding new pre-Kindergarten classes in both French and Spanish, for students 18 months to two years old, expanding its preschool offerings and pipeline into immersion learning.
• Resumption of in-person summer camps with French and Spanish emphasis. The school did not provide summer camps last year due to the pandemic, but provided in-person learning the entire school year.
• Hiring four new middle school teachers to execute the school’s curriculum in both languages, including in math and science.
“We are very pleased to be able to expand upon the incredible foreign language immersion programs we’re offering at International School of Arizona,” said John Walter, Interim Head of School at ISA. “These new programs and faculty members will help create an even more robust learning experience in both French and Spanish for our students.”
Information on preschool and summer camp programs is available now on the school’s website, www.isaz.org. The summer camp sessions will run from June 1 to July 2, and will include several different themes: The Great Outdoors, Superhero Week, Tiny Travelers, Jr. Olympics, and Music Mayhem. The Early Childhood camp will be open for children 2 to 6 years old, and the Lower School camp will be open for children 7 to 12 years old.
The International School of Arizona offers language immersion programs that begin at 18 months and continue through eighth grade. Its fully accredited Spanish and French language immersion programs allow children to achieve bilingualism through play, routine and the study of math, science, social studies, music and art.
Students who learn through language immersion programs graduate an average of two or three years ahead of their peers, and they are also statistically proven to have higher test scores, stronger literacy skills, enhanced cognitive abilities and better employability later in life.
The International School of Arizona offers:
· A unique immersion curriculum
· Lower tuition than many other private schools in the area
