Summer Reading

Happy Reading!
Warmly,

Rising Kindergarten - Grade 2 Summer Reading

For rising kindergarten, first, and second grade students, we have included suggested reading lists. There is no assignment requirement. These are excellent texts to read and discuss with your student throughout the summer.

Rising Grades 3-8 Summer Reading and Assigments

For rising third through eighth grade students, there are two assignments. Each grade level will have one required reading that all students in the grade will read. They will complete an assignment for this book. The second assignment is a self-selected book from the recommended reading list. The students will complete a postcard for this book. Please see the specific grade level information for the reading lists, descriptions of both assignments, and grading information. In total, you will read two books and complete two assignments.

The postcards can be sent to ISA anytime throughout the summer. They will be collected and displayed for when the students return to school in August. Your student received a school addressed postcard with the summer reading materials. If it is misplaced, you can use a blank postcard, and when complete, please send the postcard to ISA English Department, 9522 E. San Salvador Dr., Scottsdale, AZ, 85258.

We encourage all students to complete the summer reading and accompanying assignments throughout the summer. The students may bring their projects when they return in August.

For Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2, the reading is suggested and the report is optional.

For Grades 3 through 8 the reading is required and there are projects associated with them.
